Who We Are
We’re Rob and Tober, research scientists turned product creators. Both of us graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, where we studied biology and biotechnology with a focus on molecular biology, chemistry, and human health. Our scientific background helps us create products grounded in evidence, not marketing trends.
Over the years, our work in biotechnology, toxicology, and healthcare gave us firsthand insight into how ingredients affect the body. We saw the growing gap between what science knows about chemical exposure and what consumers are told. That gap inspired the creation of Nature’s Complement.
When my own skin began reacting to everyday products, we started formulating alternatives at home. What began as a necessity soon grew into a mission to make personal care products that are safe, simple, and genuinely effective, but without the synthetic fillers or misleading labels so common today.
How It All Began
We’ve always believed that what we put on our bodies matters just as much as what we put in them. The more we researched, the clearer it became that “for external use only” doesn’t mean harmless. Many ingredients in personal care products are absorbed through the skin or enter the body indirectly. Even small exposures can build up over time through bioaccumulation.
Despite being careful about the food we ate, we realized how few truly healthy options existed for personal care. Reading product labels became an exhausting routine. We’d pick something up, scan the ingredients, and put it back on the shelf when we saw another synthetic or preservative we didn’t want to use. One day Rob said, “Someone should make a product that actually has good ingredients.” After hearing that more times than I could count, I decided that someone would be me.
We began researching every ingredient we could find—how it worked, whether it was safe, and how it interacted with others. There were many failed attempts, long nights of testing, and moments of discovery. In time, we developed a line of products that we, our family, and our friends could use with confidence. Those same products are what we offer today: safe, effective personal care made with integrity.
Every ingredient we use has a purpose. If it doesn’t contribute to your skin’s health or product effectiveness, it doesn’t go in. We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t use ourselves, and we’re always happy to answer questions about what’s inside our formulas.
