Shield Sunscreen was created to address common concerns with conventional sunscreen products, including ingredient selection, long-term exposure considerations, and overall skin health.
Many conventional sunscreens rely on synthetic (organic) UV filters to achieve stability and performance. Several commonly used active ingredients, including avobenzone, oxybenzone, octinoxate, octisalate, homosalate, and octocrylene, have been studied for skin absorption, endocrine activity, and other biological effects.
Shield Sunscreen uses zinc oxide as the sole active ingredient. Zinc oxide works by reflecting and scattering UV radiation and is widely recognized for its distinct safety profile compared to many chemical UV filters.
Sunscreen plays an important role in reducing UV exposure, but it is not a complete solution. Using sunscreen can sometimes lead to longer periods of sun exposure under the assumption of full protection.
Effective sun protection includes limiting excessive exposure, seeking shade, and wearing protective clothing in addition to using sunscreen.
Shield Sunscreen uses non-nano zinc oxide (20%) as its active ingredient. It also includes milk thistle, green tea, rosemary, and astaxanthin, which have been studied for their potential roles in supporting the skin’s response to oxidative stress and UV-related damage.
Each ingredient is selected with both function and transparency in mind.

Additional Ingredients:
Sweet Almond Oil infused with Green Tea and Milk Thistle, Beeswax, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Natural Vitamin E Oil (non-GMO), Organic Flax Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil, Astaxanthin.
Formulated without ingredients commonly associated with coral reef impact.
Directions: Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. A visible white layer may appear during application due to the zinc oxide. Continue gently rubbing the product into the skin, and allow approximately 10–15 minutes for it to fully settle and blend. Reapply after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, and at least every two hours.
Warnings: For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue use if irritation or rash occurs. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek medical assistance.
Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases the risk of skin cancer and premature skin aging. Limit time in the sun, especially between 10am and 2pm. Wear protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses.
Children under 6 months: Consult a physician.

THIS SUNSCREEN HAS WORKED THE BEST OVER ANY CHEMICAL FILLED CANCER CAUSING OVER THE COUNTER STUFF. I AM FAIR SKINNED, SPENT HOURS OUT ON THE WATER IN THE HOT NEVADA SUN AND DIDN’T EVEN GET PINK. AWESOME.
